Southern Philippines and Sarawak to offer joint tours

The southern Philippines and Sarawak have agreed to jointly tap each other's resources and exploit the tourism potentials that each has to offer. Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently signed in Kuching, both the Southern Philippine Tourism Council (SPTC) and the Sarawak Tourism Federation (STF) will work together and collaborate in any proposed tourism events and joint tour packages that will be in place in the two regions.
As part of the MoU, the two will jointly promote and co-ordinate education exchange programs, health tourism and will encourage a more active inter-regional participation and exchange visits between Filipinos and Sarawakians. The main purpose of the agreement is to increase the tour mobility by working for integrated tourism links.
The MoU was signed during the three day Brunei/Indonesia/Malaysia/Philippines-East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Travel Exchange, which marks a major milestone as the tourism authorities have jointly agreed to develop the booming tourism industry in this region of South East Asia.
