How to Travel from London to Greece

Fancy a great island holiday? Well the Greek islands are calling. They are perfect place to relax and soak up the sun. If you want to travel from London to Greece there is more than one way to go about it. If you thought that the only way to travel from London to Greece was by plane then you thought wrong.

You can now totally avoid airplane travel and still arrive in Greece from London. It may be a longer route but it might prove to be a more affordable and scenic one. It will probably be a trip to remember.

Train and Sea

You can now use trains and ferries to travel from London to Greece. Travelling by train and sea is how everyone used to holiday, you can really make a trip out of your travel time. It will take you about two days to travel from London to Greece if you decide to take a train and ferry but it will be a wonderful adventure.

You start your travel from London to Greece by leaving from St. Pancras. Depending on where you want to go in Greece the journey will vary. If you want to go to Athens then you can take only the train or you can also take a ferry for part of the journey.

You can first take a train from London to Italy. You can stop in Paris first and then take an overnight train to Bologna. From Bologna you will take a train to Bari, this is in Italy. You can then take a ferry from Bari to Patras in Greece. This is the fastest and easiest way to travel from London to Greece without taking a plane.

If you don't like the idea of taking a ferry then there is a way to complete this journey completely by train. You need to take a train from London and you will go through Brussels, Vienna, Cologne, Budapest, and Bucharest. This journey will take about two days but will allow you to enjoy some stunning scenery.

Why Take the Train?

You might wonder why you would want to bother taking an overland or sea journey. The reason is simply that the journey is much more pleasant. Modern overnight trains are very comfortable and you can enjoy a great restaurant aboard your ferry. You can break up your journey and explore the countries you are passing through and have an extended holiday as well.
